We’re pleased to welcome Vincent to Relait as a Graduate Software Engineer.
Vincent joins the team with a strong technical foundation in computing and cybersecurity, along with hands-on experience delivering real-world AI solutions. Based in Perth, he represents the next generation of engineers who are just as comfortable working across product, clients and operations as they are writing code.
Before joining Relait, Vincent worked on end-to-end technology projects through Curtin University’s Industry Exchange program with SICA, where he contributed to building a full-stack AI platform used across industries including mining, subsea and oil and gas. That experience gave him exposure not just to development, but to how technology is applied in real business environments.
Introduce yourself
I’ve always enjoyed working on things that turn ideas into something real and useful.
My background is in computing and cybersecurity, but what I’ve found most interesting is being involved across the full lifecycle of a project. Not just building something, but understanding how it gets used and how it creates value.
Before joining Relait, I worked on AI-focused projects through Curtin’s Industry Exchange program with SICA. That gave me a strong technical base, but also showed me how much I enjoy working across both the technical and people side of projects.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading and playing badminton.
What’s your role at Relait
I joined Relait as a Graduate Software Engineer and the role has been quite varied, which I’ve really enjoyed.
I’ve worked across bug fixes, product improvements and some customer success support. More recently, I’ve been involved in a client website operationalisation project, which has been especially interesting.
Being able to contribute across different areas has helped me learn quickly and build a broader understanding of both the product and the business.
Why Relait?
What stood out to me was both the problem Relait is solving and the people behind it.
Investor relations is an important part of business, but it’s often still quite manual and fragmented. The opportunity to improve that in a practical way felt meaningful.
The interview process also stood out. It felt relaxed but still professional, and it was clear the focus wasn’t just on technical ability, but also on how I would fit into the team and culture.
Why Startups?
What I enjoy most about startups is the chance to make a real impact early.
There’s always something to improve, whether it’s the product, a workflow or how the team operates, and that creates opportunities to contribute beyond a narrow role.
I also value the closeness of smaller teams. You get to work directly with people across the business, learn from experienced leaders and see how decisions are made in real time. That environment pushes you to grow quickly and take ownership.
How did you end up here on the team?
I came to Relait through a connection with my previous manager at SICA after Martin reached out about an internship.
We were introduced, had a conversation, and things moved quite quickly from there. The opportunity developed into a full-time role, and it felt like a natural fit based on both my background and the kind of environment I was looking for.
What’s the most exciting thing about Relait?
What excites me most is that Relait is solving an important part of business that often sits in the background.
Investor relations might not always be the most visible function, but it plays a critical role. There’s real value in making that work more efficient, more insightful and easier to manage.
I’m also interested in how Relait is using AI. There’s a clear focus on applying it in a practical way to support people, rather than replace them.
Just as important is the team. There’s a strong culture of support, learning and mentorship, and a shared focus on delivering good outcomes for customers.
What’s a software product that’d suck to lose?
Claude would be hard to lose. We’ve been using it for brainstorming and working through ideas on internal projects, and it’s been really useful for helping things move faster.
At the same time, tools like Teams and WhatsApp are just as important. Teams keeps everything aligned at work, and WhatsApp helps me stay connected with family and friends.
What’s your favourite thing on the internet right now?
Ebooks.
I’ve always enjoyed reading, but carrying physical books everywhere isn’t always practical. Being able to have everything in one place has made it much easier to read consistently.
